About BTCS

Biblical Theological College & Seminary was founded in 2003 by Dr. T.L. Angam Haokip in obedience to God’s call. While he was a student of Bachelor of Theology at SIBBC, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, he shared his vision and missions with friends and started praying together under the coconut trees and thorn bushes, burdened for the perishing souls and having the vision to reach out to Buddhist people and Hindus, specifically in North India, Burma, Bhutan, Tibet, Thailand, and other Asian countries. After many years of spirit-filled prayer, he went to Myanmar, reaching out to the unreached but due to severe persecution and imprisonment, he could not stay any longer there. Later he devoted his time to spending with the Lord in a prayer mountain, fasting and praying to God for seeking His direction. Eventually, the Lord showed him Apostle Paul’s strategy in discipling servants, and as the result of the tearful prayers, God answered and gave birth to BTCS for the purpose of multiplying servants of God for church planting n urban and tribal areas.

BTCS is registered as a trust in Karnataka in the year 2004. In the beginning, we rented a small building at Chelekere Bangalore-43, on 28 June and had our inauguration service, and dedicated the ministry to the hand of God. On 7th July 2003, the first class began for the B. Th. course with 13 students (3 girls and 10 boys), with 1 faculty, who was the founder and president, Dr. T.L. Angam Haokip. After a few months, some friends joined him in teaching. So, at the end of the first academic year, there were 5 faculties. The first batch of 7 students graduated on 5th April 2006 (4 boys and 3 girls). Today the Lord has increased and blessed the ministry to grow to 42 students with 9 faculties.

Our Church planting ministry has been incredibly growing in Burma. Today there are 231 Churches, and every year sending missionaries to Buddhist counties to plant churches continue, and the Lord also gave us a home for the orphans, which is named Missionary Children Home. The purpose is to help the oppressed and the destitute children who are affected by the terrorists in North-East India, and also the children of missionaries of Burma Church planter. Today there are over five hundred students in the various ministries of the Lord around the world.

ACADEMICS

Biblical Theological College & Seminary is more than just a school for academics. Our courses are vocational and practical. We strive for a balance between the academic study of God’s Word and hands-on ministry experience. We equip everyday people to become able ministers of the Gospel.

Our program consists of a two/three years Bible Training Institute, with a Practical School of Ministry for all these two/three years. And for those who believe they are called to full-time ministry, the third-year apprenticeship program can provide great ministry experience.

BTCS offers the ideal environment for transformation, as your mind is renewed by the Word of God. For some, this two to three years commitment has restored their lives and their faith as they have discovered their true identity in Christ. Many attend to answer a call from God and prepare for ministry. Others come just to develop their own personal relationship with the Lord and help loved ones and friends close to them. Whatever the motive, it’s a life-changing experience.

“My vision is to see many students from

All over the world trained and equipped

To share the good news of the gospel,

Through the study of the Word of God

And the practical hands-on ministry training.”
